A new policy brief from EURYO’s Working Group 1 is set to spark debate on the future of rural youth mobility across Europe. Titled “The Right to Stay, The Right to Move: Young People’s Views on the Future of (Im)Mobility in Rural Areas,” the document highlights the challenges and aspirations of young people navigating life in rural communities.

To mark its release, EURYO will host a webinar bringing together researchers, policymakers, and youth representatives. The event will delve into the findings of the brief, which explores two fundamental questions: how to ensure young people’s right to remain in their communities, and how to guarantee their right to move when opportunities lie elsewhere.

Speakers from the Working Group, alongside experts in rural development, will present recommendations aimed at balancing rootedness with mobility. The discussion is expected to shed light on innovative approaches to inclusive policy-making, with a focus on sustainable futures for Europe’s rural regions.
